So this is my first ever post so please be kind. I aim to share my knowledge of digital marketing with you all as I go through the learning curve after statring my intern job this week!
So lets talk about hot to write a SEO friendly blog post.
Define your post structure
With research complete and all information collected, you need to come up with a structure for your post. Basically, you need to define the three key parts of a blog post, which are the introduction, body and conclusion.
To get readers to read the entire blog post, you need to have a strong introduction. At this stage you must write a masterpiece as this is a critical part of the post that will determine if readers will stay or leave after the first few seconds.
Failure to introduce your post well will not get readers to scroll to read more. You can give a preview of what the reader should expect and share some facts and figures that will be explained in depth later, or even grab the attention of readers by asking a question.
This is the second part of the article and here you will have all the things mentioned in the introduction. It helps to expound on the topic and answer all questions asked by readers. In this part, you should provide comprehensive information about the topic and for SEO you should consider adding photos.
Use H tags (eg
) on subtopics when you want to share a new idea. Don’t write blocks of text that are not guided by subtopics as this could give your article a bad structure, and users would like to see broken-down sections.
These are final words to wrap up what you have already said in the body of the article. You could give a verdict if the article was about a review.
How to use headings (h1, h2, h3, h4, h5)
It makes sense to add headings to your article, especially where you need to explore the content topically to guide the reader from one point to the next. It makes the content easy to read. You should highlight a single theme in each paragraph, and to highlight the theme it is necessary to consider using these heading tags. Headings will help to improve the visibility of the post, so a reader can skip to sub topics they find useful.
Proofread the post
Lastly, with everything complete, you should dedicate some time to proofreading. Regardless of how skilled you are as a writer, there are mistakes you will make that can only be seen during proofreading. Most probably you should do this a few hours after you are done writing, or even the next day when your mind is clear.
Writing a blog post that is optimized for both SEO and the user takes a few steps as outlined above. Following this structure religiously will help you get better conversion and could see readership on your blog posts rise. Follow the ideas presented above to help enhance the quality of your posts for both SEO and the reader.
